The method of direct digital synthesis (DDS) of the pulse compression signals is now widely used in radar systems. There are two methods in generating complex signals with DDS: Direct Digital Frequency Synthesis (DDFS) and Direct Digital Waveform Synthesis (DDWS). DDWS provides precise signal phase and powerful frequency resolving capability, meanwhile produces sorts of complex wave in a more convenient way and improves the spectrum purity. What the most important is that DDWS can Pre-distort the amplitude and phase in FM band, which makes the output signal more closely approaches the idea one. The waveform generated using DDWS is of strict coherence, repetitiveness, high stability and programmability, which can also easily realize the waveform parameter agility and generate arbitrary waveforms in order to meet the urgent needs for anti-interference and strong viabilities of radars under modern EW environment. Thus, further researches on DDWS are of much importance recently. This dissertation introduces the work principles, hardware circuit structure and application of a high-speed arbitrary waveform generator based on DDWS. In this system, the data transmit rates is up to 800Mbit/s and the cache is constituted with 10 chips of SDRAMs which have 128Mbit capacity per chip. The system can generate various waveforms needed of different pluswidth and bandwidth. The primary work in this dissertation:1. Compare the differences and similarities between direct digital waveform synthesizer(DDWS) and direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS).2. Analysis the advantages of the SOPC compared to the SOC. Introduce the primary characteristics of the SOPC based on Nios II and the feasibility of the system implementing based on Nios II.3. A high-speed arbitrary waveform generator base on DDWS method and high-speed DAC is designed and implemented. 4. Debug the system including the application program, driver program and hardware; test the result of the system. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG), Direct Digital Waveform Synthesis (DDWS), SOPC, Nios II, Serializer | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
