The arbitrary waveform generator can produce not only a variety of common waveforms, but also provide most of digital modulation capabilities. It can create the user-defined arbitrary waveforms. The arbitrary waveform generator based on the PXI bus architecture allows users to customize the software to achieve a flexible variety of testing requirements.The dissertation focus on the hardware circuit of the PXI-based arbitrary waveform generator, including the digital circuit part and the analog channel design. The work and contributions of the dissertation are as follows:1. Synthesizes most of the conventional waveforms and arbitrary waveforms through the dual DDS structure, realizes the modulation of FM, Sweep, AM, Burst, BM, FSK, PSK.FM. The implementation of the related indicators, which comes from the modulation signal generator, is analyzed.2. Compares with several storage solutions. By means of QDR technology, it makes the sample rate up to 200MHz and deep memory 4M×16bit come true.3. The establishment of the hardware solutions and device parameters are accomplished by analyzing the analog channel indicators. On the basis, designs the PXI 200MSPS arbitrary waveform generator signal processing circuit, including the filter circuit, the square wave generating circuit, the AM generating circuit, the amplitude and offset control circuit.4. Testing methods are presented according to design requirements. The results of the test prove the effectiveness and practicality of the design of arbitrary waveform generator.
