Arbitrary waveform generator is a kind of important instruments in modern testing field. Given the abilities of generating all kinds of typical and any complicated arbitrary waveforms defined by user, it has expansive application and development foreground,used in the domains of communication, radar, electronic countermeasures, instrument, etc.This thesis which combines project"100MSa/s arbitrary waveform generator"focuses on hardware design. Its solution of arbitrary waveform generator is put forward, and its'circuit are designed. The main content of this thesis includes:1. Demonstrates the solution of waveforms generating. Waveform generating is one key technology in arbitrary waveform generator. Direct digital synthesis is selected in the design. On the basis of DDS utilizing FPGA, dual DDS is designed. This method realizes frequency modulation by generating the main wave and the modulation wave. By control of frequency tuning word and phase accumulator, FSK, PSK and pulse wave is generated.2. DSP5416 is chosen as monitor of arbitrary waveform generator and its circuits are present. Its'software is designed, and Working process and realization of every software module are expatiated.3. Design of analog circuits is accomplished. According to analyzing the output signals'characteristics of frequency spectrums, two kinds of filters are designed to filter signals unwanted. A method for improving amplitude-frequency characteristic of sine wave is put forward, and a circuit is presented. Square wave and altitude modulation is generated in analog circuit, and a method of voltage control is presented by manner of coarse control and fine control.4. Testing methods are presented according to design requestment. With respect to debugging and testing process, author makes an in-deep analysis and give solutions to these problems. The final test results meet the design requirements. Test results are shown in appendix.
