A lot of skilled people are needed in modern society, especially high-skilled talents. In orderto meet the need of modernization, technical schools as an essential part of our professionaleducation system, offer a lot of high-skilled talents to the society each year. As a basic course intechnical schools, mathematics is the base of studying and understanding other subjects.Mathematical knowledge is one of the basic kinds of knowledge for technical school students,and mathematical skill is one of the basic skills for them. Whether the mathematics course isgiven successfully will directly influence the effect of students’ core competence education.In most technical schools, the mathematical course follows the traditional teaching mode.This results in the lack of students’ interest in study and the difficulties of teaching, as technicalschool students have a relatively worse base of study. Task-driven teaching method is a teachingmethod which can enable the students to develop their abilities and stimulate their interest andthirst for knowledge. This study, by using the literature method, the questionnaire survey method,the experimental method and the interview method, is a detailed analysis meanwhile a researchof the applications of task-driven teaching method for mathematics teaching in technical schools.Besides, it verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of this teaching method with its application inthe teaching process.The first part of this study, as the introduction, introduces mainly the research backgrounds,the current research situations in China and other countries, the purposes, the meanings, thecontents and the methods used of the research. The second part mainly focuses on the descriptionof the connotation, the theoretical basis and the application steps of task-driven teaching method.For the theoretical basis, it is mainly described from two aspects, the theory of constructivismand Dewey’s “Learning from doing” educational theory. The third part is the focus and difficultyof this study, including mainly the analysis of the current situation of mathematical teaching intechnical school. According to the current teaching situations, a research of the applicationfeasibility of the task-driven teaching method is done for mathematics teaching in technicalschool. Besides, with a case of the application of task-driven teaching method for mathematicsteaching in technical school, the feasibility of the application of this teaching method is verified.The fourth part is some thoughts summarized from the study and the prospects for the future.
