Mount Meng is located in the south of Shandong, between120o13′25"~120o34′48"Eand35o12′21"~36o14′16"N. As the second peak in Shandong, it,s peak elevation is1156m,while it covers an area of1125km2.In Mt. Meng, the resources of forest and animals, plants isvery abundant. The natural environment is beautiful and the air quality is clear in Mt. Meng.In1994,Mt. Meng Has been selected as National Forest Park by the governmentdepartments.Based on our collecton in Mt. Meng,2000specimens are collected in total. Then we dothe indoor identification of the specimens and analysis of related references,251species in98genera of40families were identified. Of these,39species in20genera of16families areliverworts;212species in78genera of27families are mosses. Among them, there are3generas and5species are reported from Shandong Province for the first time.Four areas are selected to compare with Mt.Meng on the bryoflora. It is concluded thatthe species richness of Mt. Tai and Mt. Yi are higher, otherwise Mt. Kunyu and Mt. Lao areLower. The result is consistent in the location and climite.Based on the study of the geographical elements,we found that Mt.Meng is divided into12geographical elements, in which North Temperate element accounting for46%andEast-Asia element accounting for29%make up the majority of the bryoflora of Mt.Meng.Wealso found it has some endemism and relationship with the bryoflora of tropical andsubtropical area. The outcome is consistent the location and climite of Mt.Meng.
