The northwestern part of Shandong Province is scarce in local water resources and is mainly replenished by the Yellow River.With the water into Shandong Province decreasing in recent years,the contradiction between water supply and use in the northwest of Shandong is aggravated especially when the Yellow River encountered dry years.The southeastern part of Shandong Province is rich in water resources and has large amount of out flowing water,which has great utilization potential.Water resources utilization Dawen River Basin discard more water in wet year and the utilization of water resources is not reasonable.In order to guarantee the sustainable development of economy and society along the Yellow River region,especially in the northwest of Shandong Province,this paper studies the feasibility of the water resources of the Yellow River and the local water resources in Shandong Province.It is worthy to mention that water use of the northwestern could be fed by the southeastern and Dawen River.In addition,as a city landscape river in Jinan City,Xiaoqing River Basin can be replenished by the Yellow River to meet ecological water use when the precipitation is less;and when the precipitation is more abundant,it can fed the Yellow River.This paper analyzes a variety of research methods,including statistical method,multiple joint distribution method,FGM method,nonparametric method and Copula function method.And then compares the applicability,advantages and disadvantages and application status.This paper analyzed the consistency and representativeness of the hydrological sequences.And then constructed the two-dimensional and three-dimensional joint model by using Copula function,analyzed the wetness-dryness encountering probability and compensation characteristics,which included the Yellow River,the southeastern part of Shandong Province and the northwestern part of Shandong Province,the Yellow River,Dawen River Basin and the northwestern part of Shandong Province,the Yellow River and the Xiaoqing River Basin.At the same time,the results of Copula calculation and Statistical results were compared,and the joint distribution contour maps were plotted.The research indicated that the study was of great significance to achieve the utilization of water resources,which could provide a technical support for united regulation between Shandong Province and the Yellow River.
