Study On Competency Analysis And Enhancement Of The Middle Managers In The Black Bamboo Park

In this study, the study subject was all the middle managers of the Black Bamboo Park. The aim was to understand and analyze their competency structure and current competency situation, and to provide measures and suggestions on enhance their competency. The document analysis, on-the-spot investigation, interviews and questionnaire survey were used during the research. The average method, one factor analysis of variance and correlation analysis were used to analyze data.The main findings include: the competency model consisted of ten factors which were political competency, operational capacity, knowledge, interpersonal skills, global concepts and overall sense, service sense and capacity, garden knowledge, public safety knowledge and emergency handling capability, innovative awareness and ability, personal qualities and potential; service sense and capacity and garden knowledge were character competency; the assumptions that there was a correlation between awareness of the importance and the level of the competency items with demographic variables such as gender, age, education, department, rank and work experience were verified in the study. Finally, the measures and suggestions on enhance the weak competency items from the park level and individual level were proposed.
