"Fine Art" magazine founded by Shanghai Fan Arts school in1918, and it plays an important role.Firstly, Appearance of art magazine marks the Shanghai Mei zhuan’s maturity. Secondly,"Art" magazine as a medium of communication, On the one hand, it broadcasts the academic articles and valuable information. On the other hand, it promotes the academic exchanges and information interaction. It has important significance for promoting Shanghai Mei zhuan’s construction and the early art education in the popularization and the enhancement. In the meanwhile, it makes the research of art history more deeply. Thirdly, it provides a mode to the founder of college journals and professional journals. Lastly, Art magazine as a kind of printed text is preserved, as a deep rich information inside of it, it depth provides historical data for the research of the development of art education and art history in the period of Republic of China. In view of "Art" magazine’s significant value, this paper will take the "Art" magazine as the research object. Using of communication, education, Journal Editors (Journal) theory, the quantitative, qualitative analysis, I will have a further analysis in the content of the "Art" magazine. In the first chapter, I use two parts to analysis the college of chemical and professional journals characters. Through the analysis of the magazine’s editor group, tenet, academic research, fine arts and art education information, dig out the art college of chemistry characteristics. Art magazine with professional skill development show, comments and timely and effective dissemination of information Art Circles, show it as a professional journal features. The second chapter analyzes the content of Shanghai Mei zhuan training school correspondence education in Art magazine. These representative, objectinity, comprehensive content reveals the correspondence education characteristic and achievement, but also shows the "art" magazine in the dissemination, so as to promote the development of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts Education. The third chapter mainly study the "art" magazine how to introduce and spread the foreign art. Foreign art is important content in "art" magazine, though the analysis of the contents of this part reveals the "art" magazine’s huge contributions in the spread of foreign art especially in India Outstanding contributions as pie, Post Impressionism and fauvism painting. This paper tries to study the three chapters’ contents of "art" magazine, to research the theoretical value and practical significance of "art" magazine.
