With the rapid development of IT, there are more and more internet applications. The requirement of mobile data traffic has increased dramatically. The current network of operators can not meet the growing requirements. In this scenario, many kinds of access network appear, e.g. GSM,3G, LTE and WLAN. However, one access can only serve for a single service. This leads uneven distribution of resources. Is there a method to make full usage of all accesses in order to provide users with a good experience?In response to these issues, this article will give a research about the multi-connection architecture theory to rearch the composition and decomposition. Especially in the case of large amount of data and users, a pollicy can be customized for the user’s personalized access network selection strategy. Currently, operators, including some equipment manufacturers are in the study of WLAN and cellular networks unified authentication problem, but multi-connection architecture only begins to take shape.In addition, there is also a trial in this article. This trial is carried out to observe the prospects for multi-connection applications.The main work of this article is as follows:1. The research and standardization of mullti-connection architecture. Make deep research about the requirements and scenarios of multi-connection architecture. And promote the progress in standardization of multi-connection architecture. As a result, write some proposals about the function and interface of the entities.2. The research about network selection technology in multi-connection environment. There are some network selection technologies in3environement:network selection technology in multi-WLAN environment, network selection technology in multi-cellular environment and network selection technology in integrated WLAN and cellular networks. At the end, a plan is provided to give a good network selection policy with accesses providing real-time network traffic and ANDSF provisioning the policy.3. Hotspot2.0experiment. This experiment is about one of the technologies in network selection between multi-WLAN. The experiement proves it can be done that terminals can have an automatic access the network. Finally, according to the results of the experiment, I will analyze the technology industry.
