Design And Implementation Of A WLAN Authentication Client

After years of development, WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network), based on802.11and a series of protocol, has shown it’s advantage in various industries. Although wirelesshas brought so much convenience, it has brought great challenge to data security. WLANauthentication not only ensures that the only legitimate users can use the network, but alsodetermine the data encryption methods, to ensure the security of wireless networks.WLAN data-link layer authentication includes open system authentication and shared keyauthentication, encryption includes expressly transmission, WEP, TKIP and CCMP,common user access authentication modes are PSK and802.1x based authentications. Thistopic describes a project about how to develop a WLAN authentication client.The functions of the client described in the project includes discovering a wirelessnetwork interface card automatically, wireless interface card parameter query, manuallycreating wireless network configuration, saving online wireless network configuration,wireless network attribute modification, deletion of wireless network configuration, accessto wireless network scan information, wireless network list display, manual wirelessconnection, automatic wireless connection, disconnection of wireless network connections,wireless location information upload and monitor wireless location server message. Thewireless positioning information upload and monitor wireless location server messageassociate with the business function and it’s the difference between the other client. Otherfunctions are common functions all client should have. The development of this project isbased on Windows. We use the Native Wifi Functions and MFC related technologies.Especially the Native Wifi Functions that Windows offered to developers are used inWLAN programming, the functions are introduced in MSDN.After this WLAN authentication client is completed it has been fully tested. Manykinds of wireless network environment are built in the laboratory. All types ofauthentication and encryption work well, scanning to the wireless network and thewireless network interface card connection authentication type and type of encryption cancorrectly judged and displayed, other functions also can be use.
