Software defined wireless networking has been recognized as the trending of 5G wireless networks.It provides extendable,manageable,and flexible network architectures.However,in a single-connection based SDWN network,the throughput performance of users is limited by the connection pattern.Also,the load of APs cannot be balanced and optimized,which results in the performance bottleneck of the system.In this paper,we will study how to make full use of the SDN and NFV theories to design an approach which enables the terminal to simultaneously connect with multiple physical APs and perform concurrent communications,such that throughputs of the terminal can be improved and AP's forwarding load can also be further balanced.The main contributions of this paper mainly include the followings;(1)We design a scheme which enables user can have multi-connections with APs.First of all,we have analyzed the wireless association procedures.By introducing a frame module in AP,user's information can be extracted from the probe request frame and further created the MVAP label for wireless association.The MVAP design is involved to create an association label for the user.Thereafter,physical APs who maintains the user's MVAP label will accept the user's association request.(2)We proposed a multi-path forwarding algorithm to handle users' traffic.After the user has successfully associated with multiple APs,the remaining problem is how to distribute its traffic among these APs.Our system integrates the Open Flow virtual switches into APs and dispatch forwarding rules as Open Flow tables to APs.Users' traffics are firstly distinguished as the Elephant Flow and Mice Flow,and then different forwarding rules are made according the corresponding mechanism.(3)We also implement a mechanism that can collect users' information.To acquire associated users' information,the system SDWN controller will call the APIs of the embedded OVS.The wireless information is acquired by the wireless management tool Hostapd.In this paper,we give the design details of our system.In addition,we have done extensive experiments to verify the usefulness of the proposed system from both perspectives of functionality and performance.The experiments results show that our system can provide stable wireless commutations,but also have high network resources utilization rate.It provides technical references for the design of 5G networks.
