With having.become the world’s most popular wireless access technology, Wireless LAN (WLAN) has a huge market and a huge user base. However, because of the universal application of WLAN, in some areas up to several dozens of both WLAN information exist side by side. And the WLAN can only deliver such a single network information (SSID, speed, etc.) for the station. So the user does not know whether the WLAN can connect to the Internet, whether it is free or whether it can be associated to the user’s home operator and other valuable information. Therefore, it is vary difficult for user to select network.In order to solve these problems, Hotspot2.0 protocol develop the 802.llu protocol Beacon and Probe response frames. Besides, GAS initial response and GAS comeback response frames have been introduced to deliver more network information. Through the two ways the station’s ability capacity to acquire relevant information from the wireless access point has been largely improved. Hotspot2.0 technology solutions are made by the WIFI Alliance in order to achieve user access experience without intervention. Hotspot2.0 technology is divided into two stages and the first stage’s emphasis is expansion of air interface capacities, which can supply abundant network information for station.This paper discusses the analysis and design of scanning process when Hotspot2.0 station access to WLAN. The main aspects are as follows:Give a simple introduction of Hotspot2.0 protocol and the realization scheme of the project;Make a detailed needs analysis for Hotspot2.0 projects. Introduce the AP’s main functions and main process when Hotspot2.0 station get access to AP;Design the the AP’s function module of the scanning process when Hotspot2.0 station get access to the AP;Design the added network information of each frame and confirm the configuration information from the aspects of active and passive scanning process. Make detailed design on the overall architecture, data structure, process of the whole modular;Introduce the test work. Accomplish the test of the internal implementation of the modular and interactive process of the modular and the others.
