Research On Graphic User Interface Of Real-time Reference Software

Real-time Reference Service is a special style of Reference Activity. It’s the activity that users use instant message software, through approach of internet to chat with librarian or reference expert in net meeting room or internet chat room. The activity process between user and librarian, and a stable interactive interface is necessary. So there must be a proper software standard to hold the effective set and acquire the good result. The settings of Graphic User Interface (GUI) standard should base on a proper construction system of itself. The practical situation is that there is no common system approved by this area. Many libraries use different systems and methods. This research will try to build a construction system of Real-time Reference software’s GUI, and use it in the practical environment.Firstly, author has investigated internal interrelated literatures to find present situation of this kind of research, and built models of construction system and evaluation system of GUI of Real-time Reference Software.Secondly, author has investigated main collection of current situation of Real-time Reference Software abroad and at home to build the procedure model series, md to get the data of users’habits and needs.Lastly, author has combined the construction system with evaluation system, and las done comparative study on primary parts of Real-time Reference Software GUIs;o find out their advantages and disadvantages.
