Today, as the rapid development of mobile communications, mobile phones have undoubtedly become the most widely used mobile communications terminals, and the necessary in people's life. This subject we studied is the design of Man Machine Interface (MMI) on a certain mobile phone from Wuhan Honsyn Communications Technology Company. MMI is the contact interface between the mobile phone and its user. The GSM protocol only defined the behavior of MMI, so mobile phone manufacturer should produce its own products by designing different MMI software style.In the first chapter, we introduced GSM protocol and its development, and we discuss mobile phone development process and the background of this subject.In the second chapter, we make a brief description on mobile communications systems, highlighting the characteristics of mobile phone software and software models.Then in the third chapter, not only the design of mobile phone system from the FFS and WAP protocol, but also the simulation software for mobile phones and flat organizational structure, were introduced and analyzed.Finally, in chapter IV, we discussed design concepts in detail of the MMI software from its task and interface, and finally give out the realization of this design methodology, system performance and results analysis.
