Research On The Evaluation Of University Library Information Ecosystem

General Academic Library Regulation (Revised Edition) further clarified the proposals that library is the Documentation and Information Center of the university, and is an academic institution for teaching and scientific research services, and is an important base of university informationization and social informationization. The university library acts as the information organizer, the information mediator and information decomposer, and plays a role of counseling between information producers and information consumers. The university library and the various information activities are the cores of the Information Ecosystem that consists of university library, users, various types of publishers and information environment. Therefore, a healthy and orderly University Library Information Ecosystem should have the following characteristics:(1) orienting the choices and processing of literature information resources, information policies formulation and information infrastructure construction to the user’s interests and values;(2) Information flows are smooth and efficient;(3) System is in a dynamic state of equilibrium. This is also the main criteria for the inspection and evaluation of the University Library Information Ecosystem.This paper discussed the connotations, the characteristics and the hierarchical structures of the University Library Information Ecosystem from two aspects of theoretical research and empirical research, and constructed a set of University Library Information Ecosystem evaluation index system by the Delphi methods, according to the existing research results and author’s practical experiences, which was suitable for the present university libraries. Meantime, this article evaluated the Library Information Ecosystem of Shandong University, Weihai. In the end, the author pointed out the existing problems and proposed the corresponding countermeasures. This is also the main innovative points.The study included the following:introduction, theory and practice literature review of Information Ecology and Information ecosystem, theoretical basis of the University Library Information Ecosystem, University Library Information Ecosystem evaluation research, case study and the summary of this article, that the focus of future research directions. The research methods used in the text included literature research methods, Delphi methods, questionnaire methods and Grey Relationship Analysis methods.The results achieved in this study include:(1)Establishing a set of evaluation index system that was suitable for the University Library Information Ecosystem in order to evaluate the proportions of elements in the system, run modes and resources allocation in the ecosystem, so as to construct a reasonable and balanced Information Ecosystem.(2)Researching and evaluating the University Library Information Ecosystem of the Shandong University, Weihai, pointing out existing problems and proposing countermeasures.
