Development Of Mechanical Processing Materials Database System

More than20years’development course of material database proves that material database can not only provide material information and performance data, but also provide the query and retrieval function of the common material data. Besides, it also can be combined with artificial intelligence technology to form the expert system for predicting material properties or designing the materials, which plays an important role in modern industrial materials engineering and machinery manufacturing industry.This paper is supported by special Science Research Project of Shannxi13115science and Technological Innovation Engineering Project(2010FWPT-05), based on the public information network of small and medium-sized enterprise built by the Science and Technology Bureau, to enrich the information resources, enhanced services, construction of small and medium enterprises in Xianyang City Public Technology service platform portal. Product innovation and technological progress, promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises in the city to improve the core competitiveness of SMES for the development of SMES in the city to create a favorable environment for innovation. For the purpose of this article, the establishment of a database system in the windows environment machining materials.The database contains the following resource:(1) the relevant data of the material work piece, such as the type of material, material mark, material properties(including material Hardenss, bending strength, tensile strength and impact toughness)、chemical composition and material usages or scope;(2) information data of the cutting tool material, such as the type、the mark and the properties of the cutting tool materials;(3) cutting parameter. Cutting parameters varies with the change of machine、cutting tool and workpiece materials, which are multi-factors. In order to complete system in facilitate, we do a simplified treatment, that is solving the cutting parameter in the condition with a given grade of cutting tool and the workpiece material.The function Database system can realize that:first, the query of data information, such as input material brand can check out properties and chemical composition of this brand material; second, the function of data management, the highest authority of the user of the system administrators can add, delete and update the data; third, user management, the system administrator can authorize new users and cancel or delete not user-friendly to ensure the security of the system.In this way, the system users will only on the computer can refer to the need information of machining the workpiece material, various tools of information, it has to avoid the tedious access to material manual process, this system is based on the desktop application can run in the personal computer,the carry is easy, and it not receive place interference.In the system the desktop database Microsoft Access is used as the background system, and PowerBuilder is used as foreground development tool and ODBC as Database interface.
