As the national economy developments, the amount of construction projects is constantly increasing, which leads to the rising demand for construction vehicle. At the same time, with the continuous development and popularization of modern electronic control technology, there are more and more electronic control productions created for engineering vehicle. The traditional engineering vehicles have difficulty adapting to the fierce competition in the market. Therefore, it is an inexorable trend to take modern electronic control technology into traditional engineering vehicle industry.This design is based on the background of engineering vehicle industry and the present development at home and abroad. There are many popular products in this field, such as high quality color LCD, remote GPS monitoring terminal, fault diagnostic, and so on. These electronic products have a good user experience and also bring great convenience to the vehicle’s management and maintenance. But with the increasing of extra products, the circuit wire is becoming more and more complex, the stability of the vehicle and electronic products is much lower and there are more power consumption. So in view of these questions, the paper designs an integrated terminal which combines LCD, remote GPS monitoring terminal with vehicle’s basic control technology. It can reduce cost, power consumption and improve stability.This integrated terminal based on LPC2478, designs and completes vehicle’s basic control function, GPS positioning function, GPRS communication protocol, remote monitoring function, the K bus diagnostic function, LCD display function, and so on. In addition, the system is expanded with large-capacity memory to enlarge functions in the future. It can upgrade software remotely and wirelessly by GPRS which reduces the heavy burden of maintainers. Now it has entered the testing phase of the small batch, each function works well. It satisfies the production requirements and obtains higher value of application.This paper introduces integrated terminal from five aspects, they are overall design, protocols, hardware design, software design and system debugging. In the end it summarizes the design processes and points out the direction of improvement.
