Combining with the computer electronic technology and communicationtechnology, the electronic energy meter long-distance reading system is designedaccording to the procedures that used for the customers to record electronic usage andfor the management department to monitor, manage and charge. It can be used to autorecord and manage the customers’ electronic energy meter remotely, and to provide anall-around, exact, reliable, and consistent management and analysis for the data. Theelectronic energy meter long-distance reading system based on GSM network proposedin this thesis can play more great deal in the intelligent management, makes it true tocomputerized the work procedure and helps to promote the efficiency and quality.In order to realize the electrical meter reading automatically, we use a sense ofsystematic, modular design and it is designed based on the computer wirelesscommunication technologies, network technology and serial port correspondencetechnology, household’s instrument measuring technology.Firstly, the development and the present research of meter reading and wirelesscommunication are reviewed.Then; the principles of system are analyzed. On this basis,the system hardware structure, software function design and implementation. Thehardware is composed of three subsystems,namely user subsystem,wireless networksubsystem and management subsystem.The user subsystem includes data reading anddisplaying,data collecting,communication and controlling and GSM modem.By use ofGSM network and short message services,the wireless network subsystem transmitsthe data and controlling command remotely. Management subsystem includes GSMmodem and computer, which manages the whole system and dealing with the data.Thesoftware includes Dynamic Link Library, Database and the interface exploiteded on theplatform of Visual Basic6.0.Electronic energy meter long-distance reading management system is the focus ofthis study, divided into three major modules. First through the hardware realization toshake hands agreement serial communication packets to send and receive; In the local management module to the village of user registration and storage electric energymeter, user data changes, delete and query, watt-hour meter and the area of the query;In the upload data module through the TCP protocol to achieve the cost of electricenergy meter users upload. And then in the three module respectively of the system isgiven overall structure, database relationship chart, etc.The practical running results show that the system has the feature of lowcost, highreliability and easy operation, which has comprehensive application foreground andspread value.
