With the development of Internet technology, the campus network construction has become one of the important task of the construction and development of University Digital, which shows the spirit and educational philosophy of the universities. How to improve the efficiency of information dissemination of the university portal sites is a major issue. The communication between domestic universities’ portal sites and the audience is more limited, the rate of transmission is also restricted.On the other hand, the construction and the design of the university portal sites can be more interactive between the user and the audience, the website provides a variety of interactive features such as discuss zone settings, suggestion boxes and so on.And some U.S. colleges and universities’ portal sites can also be set basing on the user’s personal conditions and providing personalized news with highly interactive.This article will comb the communication content of interactive design.Then to explain the factors and the value orientation of the interactive design of American Colleges and Universities’ portal sites.With the example of the California Institute of Technology and Pennsylvania State University,this article will analysis how do the United States colleges and universities’ sites show their interactivity,such as structure, visual and other three aspects interact.Define the effects of the interactive design of the U.S. university portal sites, and bring China’s university portal sites some factors of the construction which can be learn from.
