Design And Implementation Of Marine Data Directory System

With the development of marine science research,the quality of marine resource data increases rapidly,users wishes to acuqire marine information resource data rapidly in mass data which is integrated and desirable.But Marine Information resource data has many disciplines,and complex types,in particular the various research institutions does not have a unified standard for data exchange and storage,so how to implement storage、manage and searches the marine infomation resource data effectively has become an outstanding problem.The marine data directory system researched in my paper belongs to the subsystem of china offshore Digital Ocean basic framework for information,the system exploits XML to represent the necessary metadata used to exchange data;At the same time the system implements show the layers and basic layer operations on the thematic layers of data based on the platform of ArcGIS Server ADF.The marine information metadata is stored in relational database based on XML Type,namely some columns are XML Type used to store XML document.SQL,XPath,some SQL functions are combined to support query.User information and other related information table are stored by relational database.The system implements subject search,template search and common attributes search,users can find standard dataset and related data table information through metadata.The system is displayed by website with ASP.NET,so the system implment basic operation on thematic layers based on ArcGIS Server ADF,such as search layers attributes,show layers and so on;The system implement statistic on the longitude and latitude of metadata,and draw the results in grids on the world map through the ArcGIS Server ADF platform;The system architecture is divided into three levels,respectively,web present,business logic and data level.Marine data is stored and managed by Oracle,which works stablely;The Oracle XML DB can opeate XML document efficiently,such as search、 update and so on;Oracle database also can contact with ArcSDE spatial data engine very well,have good storage、management and operation on spatial layer data.My paper based on the software engineer development procedure,describes the requirement, analysis,design and implement of the marine data directory system in detail.The system plays an important rols in the management of marine information data,but there are still some small problems in the system need to be improved and enhanced.
