With the development of VLSI and semiconductor manufacture technics, SoC(System on a Chip) is applied to various fields more and more widely.The vigoroustrend of decreasing the minimum feature size on an increasing wafer dimension isalmost a point of no return when SIA Roadmap traces the forecast of Moore’s Law. Thisexponential tendency is pushing the contemporary SoC era to challenge its peak:Explosive Complexity, Time-to-Market Pressure, Sky-rocketing Cost. How to resolvethese problems and to increase the success rate of tape-out is a desiderated problem inthe SoC field.The thesis initiates the research on the more abstract modeling level based on themulti-cores and the evaluation of architectural performance. This paper adopted thenovel design methodology based on TLM(Transaction Level Modeling). It makes themore abstract models of the network processor with the SystemC which can accuratelyvalue the system architecture and implement the hardware and software co-design in theprevious design process.This thesis have completed following work:1) According to the TCP/IP principles, This thesis research on the transmit-receive algorithm of network processor, and have completed the transmit-receive TLM.2) The thesis constructes the SystemC model of the network processor’s differentfunction unit, including ME_receive, ME_transmit, FBI, SRAM_control,SDRAM_control. It completed the function verification of the networkprocessor TLM platform.3) According to the above TLM platform, this thesis analyzes systemperformance by using the delay information produced in the simulation. Andaccording to the analyse result, It implementes the optimization of systemarchitecture.By means of the simulation of network processor’s TLM platform, the TLMplatform finishs the following function: the transmit of data, the optimization of router,the analyse of principles etc. Both of its function and its timing feature is similar to theRTL model.
