Research On MPEG4 TLM And Verfication Platform Based On SystemC

With development and mature of microelectronic techonology, the System on Chip (SoC) design is more an more popular . At the same time, it has a challenge to conventional ASIC design methodology and design flow. These design techniques are the main areas of interest in nowadays VLSI design..SystemC is a uniform hardware/software modeling language, which spans from concept to implementation. SystemC enable earlier hardware/software co-verification and faster simulation performance. With rapid development of PMP(portable media player) device and digit TV, The research of MPEG4 encode and decode module is now hotspot. The MPEG4 encode and decode module include complex algorithm ,so it is very necessary to build a transaction level reference module .This thesis have completed following work:This thesis dwells on the design and implementation of MPEG4 encode Transcation level module (TLM) based on SystemC.(1) This thesis has a research of system design language SystemC and MPEG4 encode principle.(2) This thesis completed the function of the MPEG4 encode Transcation level module based on SystemC. It carried out the MPEG4 complex algorithm by using SystemC. We can verify the algorithm at the beginning of the design and make helpful . It is helpful for system design and partition to adapt the hardware development flow by using TLM.(3) System level modeling greatly reduces the complexity by raising the abstraction level. This thesis devide the MPEG4 encode system into several major modules such as MECU BPU .. VLC. Transaction level modeling hides unnecessary details. The communication at transaction level is method calls in comparison with signals and pins. This MPEG4 TLM include the AMBA Bus interface ,so it can be verifed in really running environment(4) Aim at MPEG4 encode Transcation level module, this thesis has a research of simulation environment and built a new transaction level model verification platform .using the verification platform , this thesis completed the function of the MPEG4 encode Transcation level module.MPEG4 Transaction level models are used to evaluate the system architecture.
