Based on the development of a precision tracking radar antenna pedestal, the thesisdiscusses the structure design of antenna pedestal of turntable type thoroughly. Thethesis studies the cause of antenna pedestal shaft system error and its influence on radarangle measurement. The design and technics methods for guaranteeing antenna pedestalshaft system precision are carried out.First of all, the thesis describes specifications and overall structure strategy ofprecision tracking radar antenna pedestal and discusses the key points in designing themain components at length.Secondly, the thesis obtains the relationship between shaft system errors and anglemeasurement error by analysis of shaft system error’s impact on radar anglemeasurement. This thesis also obtains the relationship between pedestal structure errorand shaft system errors by analysis of the cause of shaft system errors. According to thedifferent impacts of antenna pedestal structure factors on shaft system errors, shaftsystem precision index is reasonably distributed into every pedestal structure dimensionerrors.Finally, the thesis introduces technics means to guarantee shaft system precision ofthe key components during manufacture and assembly procedures. Measurementmethods for antenna pedestal shaft system precision and measured results are alsogiven.
