As a power supply, accumulator cell is an important constituent in the DC system. Therefore, the users must carry on scientifically and reasonably, practical and effective daily maintenance. For lead-acid batteries, the performance of batteries can be judged by the voltage, the gravity of electrolyte, the temperature and other indicators. Due to the large number and of different batteries, the way of artificial maintenance storage battery has to be a huge workload. In that way, the routine periodic test will be incapable of the performance of mutation, as well as cause the test blind spots. So, the need for the lead-acid battery on-line monitoring and the innovation and development of early fault diagnosis technique is very urgent.The research of this paper is based on the testing requirements of the storage battery on-line monitoring system developed by Jiangsu Xu Tang power company. And the main achievement is designing a battery on-line monitoring instrument based on ARM to monitor the monomer voltage and surface temperature of series storage battery. Firstly, the necessity and importance of on-line monitoring is analyzed in this paper. Secondly the current situation and development trend of battery monitoring both at home and abroad are introduced. Thirdly, the main purpose and function characteristic of storage battery on-line monitoring are described. Finally, based on the above characteristics, the storage battery on-line monitoring system scheme is given, which is completing the function modules of the hardware selection and circuit design, building a storage battery patrol device hardware platform with STM32microprocessor as the core.Futhermore, the paper makes the real time acquisition program modules, including operation information stored program module, display module, communication module, and other modules according to the steps firstly. Using the Visual Basic programming, the paper obtains real-time monitoring interface with monitoring information analysis processing secondly. Finally, the concrete solution is proposed module noise and interference caused by the analog systems and digital system in the debugging process, which is effective to suppress and eliminate.Under the environment of laboratory, the author tests entire inspection system, and the experimental data shows the design has a high sampling precision. The design propose in this paper is safe and reliable, achieves the expected design goal, as well as accords with the actual requirement of industry.
