In recent years, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) has rapidly developed in theelectric power, military, aerospace, modern office and other areas. It has become anessential power supply. UPS can provide reliable and pure power for loads to meet therequirements of good power supply. With the progress of power electronics and computerscience, high-tech products for power quality has made more stringent requirements.Because of the specialization of excellent function, featured and good reliability, UPS isgradually becoming a very important issue. Among the many UPS topologies, the on-lineUPS has a good function, strong real-time action, good accuracy, so the on-line UPS isexplored in the paper.First, the main circuit of on-line UPS is studies, the system’s working principle isanalyzed, the system’s control strategy is determined. It discusses the on-line UPS controlsystem from hardware and software design of APFC circuit, SPWM inverter circuit,VRLA battery charge and discharge circuit, the detection circuit, phase tracking circuitand STS static transfer switch circuit.Secondly, it establishes simulation model of the on-line UPS system underMatlab6.5/Simulink and verifies the theoretical analysis results. Simulation results showthat the on-line UPS system has an excellent dynamic and static performance, smallimpact loads, rapid response and excellent harmonic performance. System performanceindicators and functions have achieved the desired objectives and requirements.Finally, DSP/TMS320F2812is the system control chip, on-line UPS inverter circuitexperiments are setted up, a system circuit, driver circuits and detection circuits areincluded. This paper has done some inverter experiments on the overlapped circuitry.Experimental results demonstrate the control system design is effective and stable. Itexplains the rationality and effectiveness of the program.
