With the acceleration of the process of the information society, the safe and stable operation in electric power and information system is becoming more and more important. Meanwhile the application of the electrical and electronic equipments is becoming more extensive in people's life and work. Every kinds of equipment can't work without reliable power supply. Especial some important equipments are not allowed sudden blackouts, for example communication system, electric power control system, billing system and so on. So we should provide backup or emergency power supply for the purpose of safety and operation. Therefore, storage battery's good work state is very important for equipment operation. Individual storage battery quickly abates due to dry, heat, polar plate lithification, weeping, lack charging, excessive discharging, internal resistance increasing etc. when storage batteries are working, which can cause abnormal operation of system or power equipment and some heavy accident. So all-round online monitoring to parameter of storage battery operation is very necessary to warrant reliability of DC operation power electrical supply.This article based on the actual battery operating parameter online monitoring system for background, has deeply analyzed and research technical parameters that affect storage battery work status and method of online monitoring in valve-regulated lead-acid batteries. The main contents of studies include:1. The study of technique parameter and relation in valve-regulated lead-acid battery.2. The study of real-time monitoring method about valve-regulated lead-acid battery's voltage, temperature and charge or discharge current. Basic design of system's hardware and software is finished.3. The study and detailed analysis of on-line monitoring principle method about valve-regulated lead-acid battery's internal resistance by using lock-in amplification technology. Basic design of system is finished.4. In the virtual instrument software environment (Labview), making mathematics model and simulation for the lock-in amplifier. It is demonstrated that lock-in amplifier has very strong capability of extracting signal from the noises through the simulation waveforms. And the lock-in amplification technology is the best way to measure storage battery's internal resistance.5. Based on the researches on model and simulation, hardware and software were designed for valve-regulated lead-acid batteries control system. And the design of online battery monitor device has been developed and completed. Having field tests, it achieved an ideal effect.
