This paper researches the QR Code and its application, from one-dimensional bar codeto2D barcodes, the barcode technology has developed rapidly. Since the two barcode wasborn in our life, A lot of people pay a attention on it.2D Barcodes have the advantages oflarge information capacity, high density, high reliability, excellent ability of storing multipleinformation, capability of error correction, high confidentiality, and ability ofanti-counterfeit and low cost. At present,2D Barcodes have been applied widely in manyfields including transportation, post, public safety, national defense, customs, taxation,medical treatment and so on. There are several kinds of2D Barcodes widely using in ourlife,for example Data matrix,PDF14,QR code. In our country, the most popular2DBarcodes is QR code. With the development of information technology, there are some newdemands of QR code technology. On the one hand, improving the accuracy and speed of theQR code localization, there are several approach to localization the2D Barcode, the mainmethod is using the mathematical morphology technology to do this, the other takeadvantage of projection method, they are useful for the simple situation, but if the barcodeshave a complex background these methods may bad and probable emerge pseudo-region.This paper proposes an effective solution for automatic barcode localization by exploitingELM (extreme learning machine) and multichannel Gabor filtering techniques, this methodhave advantage of high accuracy comparing with other methods. On the other hand, thenew demand is the application of QR codes. In recent years the application of QR codetechnology is very popular in our life. And in the life the food security is very important,Only to ensure the food security that we can have good material living standards, and this isalso the basic protection for the survive of the people, but the recent years, food safetyissues, such as avian flu, foot-and-mouth disease, food poisoning occur frequently, earlytime people only concerned about the source of the food, and now they discover thesecurity of the transportation of food is also important. So the whole monitoring of thetransportation of food is becoming more important. In the food safety traceability, findingthe source of the food security crisis in which part is the key problem, using the barcodetechnology in the field of the food safety traceability is a best choice. At all the applicationof bar code technology can make us have a good life and it can develop the efficiency ofthe logistics management, what’s more it can reduce the food safety issues. Though deepstudy into the recognition technologies of2D Barcode, this thesis designed and developed a2D Barcode recognition terminal based on Android., And it also designed a food safety traceability system,in the end,this paper realize a logistics management system based onQR code and location localization technology. It shows using QR Code technology inlogistics management can make a good result. The main research contents of this paper areas follows:(1) In the beginning of this paper we introduced the research status of the2D barcodes,which include the characteristics of QR Code, the coding techniques of the QR Code, thedecoding techniques of the QR Code, and the major technology of QR Code imagepre-processing method for domestic and overseas. The analysis of these topics whichmentioned above has laid a good foundation for next stage of research.(2) In this paper, the most important work is that it proposes an effective solution forautomatic barcode localization by exploiting ELM (extreme learning machine) andmultichannel Gabor filtering techniques. We first employ Gabor filter to extract texturefeature of the sample barcodes, and then we use the texture feature sample to train classifierbased on ELM. Then it extract texture feature of the barcode which would be process withthe same method, input to the classifier, then it use the classifier classify the pixies of thebarcode image, though analyzing the output of the classifier, it obtain the region of thebarcodes. Finally, we apply our method to the barcode image database, which consist ofseveral different barcode symbologies. Experiment shows our method is superior to theGeneral morphology method and has desirable properties in accuracy, rotation invarianceand robustness to noise.(3) In this paper, It designed a food safety traceability system, which involves the QRCode decoding system based on Android. And then it employs this decoding method to thefood safety traceability system. In this part, it first introduces the advantage of the Androidand the current domestic and overseas situation of food security, and then demonstrates thedesign of the system in whole and its parts.(4)In the end,this paper realize a logistics management based on QR Code andAndroid, which involved QR Code encoding and decoding program and GPS localization.And also this system contain QR Code encoding module in windows, localization moduleof the Android phone, QR Code decoding module based on Android platform,communication module with the client and server and the interface design. Thisdemonstrates the availability and practicality of the QR Code technology combine withGPS based on Android.
