| House demotion has became an important way that providing land, since demand of it surged with the accelerated urbanization process in China. It involves adjustment of interests of the government, relocates and developers, Which the government on behalf of the so-called "public interest" and relocates on behalf of the so-called "private interests" occurred fierce collision in house demolition. Due to system lag and poor execution of law, house demotion caused social problems such as conflict of interests which increased social instability or risk and received media attention.But news reports related house demotion have different presentations, because of the influence both from politic, economy or culture and from reported strategy or self-positioning. Frame theory considered framework as to the principle of selection, emphasis and expression. After entering the field of journalism and communication, frame theory focus on communicators’penetration of a set of guidelines in the organization of news text and textual framework. Therefore, through investigating the framework that news reports about house demotion followed, can cognitive the characteristics and regular pattern of media when it producing these news more profound.Southern Metropolis Daily is typical which published1086news reports about house demotion from2008to2012, nearly one every1.7days, we get358from those news after sampling in this study. Taking into account the factors above, this thesis will analyze news reports related house demotion on Southern Metropolis Daily (2008-2012)viewed from the theory of Media Framework. We make an a statistical analysis on report time, thematic, sources, location, reports form and emotion of those news. Based on the amount of reports, thematic coverage and social context information, we found that those news reports can be divided into two stages:"Shock" period of2008-2010and steady period of2011-2012. In addition, in active or passive selecting, political frame(weight to official sources and social stability),"Ruling by law" frame(called for the specification of demolition, promoted the rule of law process), conflict frame(reflect the conflict and contradiction),"Being close to civilian" frame(close to readers and their lives), authority frame(authority information and views, the presence of a major event), balance frame(balanced the right to speak and emotional tendencies), criticism and construction frame(not only critic but also constructive).Finally, we also point out that the framework in the news production has both advantages and disadvantages, it can improve production efficiency by providing production style, but also limited reports. We find that the framework of reports related house demotion are not complete record of the social processes, whose selections are compromise to social since they affected from government or public. Besides, as an important element of social advancing, media also struggled to the environment, participated the procession of house demotion by means of reports of house demolition events and laws, which gave impetus to legalization of house demolition in China. |
