With the development of aerial remote sensing technology, high-speed, high-capacityimage data storage system has become a major research direction of modern digital storagetechnologies. Simultaneously, storage capacity and write bandwidth requirements of thesedevices have become more and more sophisticated. For these recorders always work in veryharsh environment, so their reliability and stability have been strictly required. This articleaims to design a high-speed large-capacity solid-state data recorder based on NAND-typeflash, taking data LVDS interface as data transmission to receive two separate high-speeddigital image data and achieve high-speed real-time storage of the data. This topic was put forward in support of the XXX project. On the base of analyzing thedevelopment status of high-speed large-capacity solid state recorders at home and abroad aswell as trends, according to the requirements of the mission statement, and combining thesuccessful experience of developing various types of data recorder recent years, the overalldesign of the image recording was designed. The design uses top-down concept as well asmodular design concept. The system is divided into various functional modules for hardwareand software design and debug, take high-speed data communication interface as LVDSNAND-type Flash storage module, external FIFO as high-speed data cache, and take FPGA tocontrol the operation of the system as a whole. At the same time, external FIFO is used as theimage data buffer in order to ensure the parallelism of the received data and the stored data. For the write speed of on-chip flash memory is very slow, make use of interleave two-planepage program operation to achieve the real-time data storage of two independent high-speedimage data at the bit rate of30.72MB/s. At the same time, by the special configuration ofFlash memory, the image data, frame structure information and its status information can berespectively stored in the specified location in the Flash accordance with the format of theimage frame. After data recording is completed, the host computer issued instructions to read back the image data from the flash through LVDS long-term reading and decoding analysis.Test results show that the designed data recorder can achieve high-speed image datastorage and forwarding in real-time, bit rate up to30.72MB/s. It has high reliability, goodstability, environmental adaptation, and meet the requirements of the mission statement, andcan be widely used in the high-speed data storage of satellite communication, signalmeasurement and other related fields.
