Abstract/Summary:
With people’s living standard rising, the way to receive information for thefamily has changed several times from the radio, TV media to computer and thetelevis ion is firmly occupying the main position of the family appliance system asit appears. Today’s TV has already not the only way to get their information, ithas become the entertainment center, and its function had already changedcompletely. In recent years, the rising of3D TV leads that TV as a traditionalappliance is very hot in the consumer electronics market. However, the conceptof3D TV has appeared for a long time, but the development of3D TV is notsatisfactory. There are two reasons for this: on the one hand, the price of3D TVis still very expensive compared to the2D TV,on the other hand there is no3DTV standard that published relevantly,3D TV sources is less, consumers aredifficult to enjoy3D TV contentedly.This paper designed the3D video conversion system using the FPGAplatform based on HDMI1.4a interface standard to solve the two problemsmentioned above. HDMI organization released the HDMI1.4a standard whichcontains various3D video formats for HDMI transmission in March2010, andthe design of video conversion system with FPGA in this paper has also reducedthe cost. This paper first studied3D TV principle and the development of the3DTV technology current in CHINA and abroad. With analyzing the advantages anddisadvantages of different3D display technology, this paper designed the3Dvideo format conversion system. The hardware platform of this design containsfront-end chip ADV7612and main control chip FPGA to satisfy the demand ofsystem.This paper studied the system hardware and software, and it also designedthe function module, finally, designed the software of the3D video formatconversion system based on the realization of the3D video format.In this paper the design used the FPGA chips as the main controller, by designing the SOPC, the system can convert the Frame Packing, Side-by-Sideand Top-and-Bottom3D video format, according to the HDMI1.4a interfacestandard about the radio and TV mandatory3D video format. The system in thispaper is simple and the cost is low, it is suitable for the current downturn in the3D TV market to improve production, this design has certain academic value andpractical significance.
