The emergence of OPC technology has significantly improved data accessperformance of a variety of heterogeneous data sources in industrial control field,and greatly enhanced the openness and integration of industrial control systems.However, the traditional OPC data access scheme has deficiencies of high cost,poor flexibility, narrow adapting and other deficiencies, especially in largecomplex systems. In order to effectively solve the issues of information sharingand interoperability between different hardware and software products, the paperproposes a Kepware unified data access scheme,which has a strong versatility.Compared with the traditional OPC data access scheme,Kepware dataaccess scheme has better versatility to support different industrial systems andequipment, and any client which followed the OPC specification could achieveaccess and operation function of the data. Its data access mode is flexible andvarious. Therefore, Kepware data access scheme is more and more widely usedworldwide.This paper investigates the traditional data access scheme and the OPC DataAccess scheme, analyzes the drawbacks in the complex of network industrialcontrol systems, and studies structure and working principle of the KEPServer-EX server from the perspective of OPC technical specifications. On this basis,put forward Kepware uniform data access scheme, iFIX configuration softwareas a client, detailed design of access to production data process in the server,wrote the DIT mapping table and the PDB process database, produced a man-machine interface to achieve the visualization of data in server, and prepared thedata report printing procedures using the VBA module. Making KEPServerEX asa multi-subsystem data server, unified collected and managed subsystem produc-tion data of the subsystem, created a project for the subsystem, added the device,wrote the data labels, and established a logical connection with live data to acqu- ired live data. Taking fan monitoring subsystem as an example, achieved moduleselection and configuration for S7-300PLC, calculated the rele-vant control para-meters, wrote frequency control program, draw a PLC and inverter terminal wirt-ing diagram, and achieved the function of frequency control.This paper based on the KEPServerEX server as the core, acquires live dataof the subsystem, achieve data processing by iFIX client and visualization in theman-machine interface. By system validation, the data access scheme acquired ofthe live data is real-time and reliable, which can meet the data access require-ments for the monitoring system.
