The demanding for communications、IT and consumer electronics products promote the rapid development of chip inductor manufacturing, the chip inductors demand in more than ten billion a year. However, the shape changing and complex process of the chip inductors make it difficult as the formation of large-scale automated production like other chip components, which still remaining in the labor-intensive manual production or semi-automatic production stage, as its production inefficiencies and it’s difficult to guarantee the quality.This paper develops a set of winding chip inductors automatic production equipment with full intellectual property、high degree of automation and work reliable. It integrates in one machine with feeding、locating、clamping、winding and welding functions of chip inductor devices, which will realize the automated production of this kind of chip inductors.The equipment is mainly controlled by the motor with automatic feeding mechanism、 ejector device、positioning clamping mechanism、winding mechanism、cable institutions and welding agencies. Hardware aspect using embedded ARM control board, the movement of the welding motor in the Z direction up and down and right-left direction of the bench of the winding machine that using the PWM circuit to control, which realized the precise positioning of the welding motor and controlled wire feed speed of line storage ring. It also adopted the interrupt interface to control solenoid valve of auxiliary organizations including positioning clamping mechanism、send disconnection briquette and discharge nozzle. At the same time, it control each cylinder weld axis、the winding axis of the sensor and weld axis, a lead axis limit switch. By designing motion controller controlled two servo motors to achieve the control linkage of the winding shaft and an exhaust spool X, Y direction, completed the interpolation operation, which realized the enameled wire wound. While using a touch screen as the main control panel and display terminal device, which used for the setting of the process parameters as well as the selection of operating conditions or monitoring.In the software design, we ported the embedded real-time operating system μC/OS-Ⅱ to ARM processor of S3C44BOX and programmed startup code of the system. At the same time, written motion control API library about various functional modules of each axis of winding machine motion control. Application program which by calling the API function library to finish designing a control system to complete the winding work.
