The characteristic features of two traditional types of winding (random crosswinding and precision crosswinding) are discussed, and a new type of winding based on the Digicone control theories introduced by some related literatures overseas which called Digicone is derived. Digicone will produce a kind of good package which has all the advantages of random crosswinding and precision crosswinding by controlling winding ratio. The packages have the features of good unwinding characteristics, no pattern zones, stable packages, homogeneous density and optimally suited for all processing areas. In this paper, we tell about the theory of Digicone and the research of bobbin building device with Digicone control system on the base of this theory detailedly.The essential features of Digicone control system are the use of a microprocessor to control the winding unit. We related the hardware structure and the software design in core of MCS-51 microprocessor and give the designing way of Digicone technology.The research of bobbin building device with Digicone control system combines the modern electronic technologies, which develops the use of Mechanical and Electronic Integration on winder. This article and our research provide a new idea for the innovation of winding. They will affect the development of winder.
