Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment is a large-scale internatiol cooperation projectunder the auspices of the Institute of High Energy Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences.Inorder to know about the state of the environment of the experiment hall and to provide thereference data for the judge of the experimental equipment working in the normallaboratory,the environmental state is needed to be a long-term monitoring.Therefore,auniversal controller system is supposed to be developed,for the sake of the controlling ofvarious type of signal and data acquisition.This paper is based on the embedded technology.A controller for data acquisition isdeveloped based on the S3C2440embedded microprocessor of ARM9nuclear and embeddedLinux operating system.For the hardware, S3C2440MPU with the character of low powerconsumption,rich peripheral resources,cost-effective and fast running speed,is an excellentembedded microprocessor.For the software,the Linux operating system is an opened sourceand free operating system.It has a wealth of driver and network protocol support.Linux alsocan be convenient for the transplantation of various open source projects.The combination ofARM processor and Linux operating system system is and extremely promising embeddedsulutions.The controller system for data acquisition researched in this paper,is mainly used inDaya Bar Reactor Neutrino laboratory for the environmental state parameter acquisition atpresent.With the project development, it will have a further application.This controller systemis designed with the interfaces of RS485,RS-232,GPIO input/output modules and Ethernetinterface.A web server called BOA is also embedded,it can realize the function of remotecontrolling.So far,this controller had been devoted to acquisit the environmental stateparameter and its performance also can cover the demand of the project.After three years trialoperation,it can be devoted into a long-term used.
