With the rapid development of the information technology, large amount of data, from which the useful information can be derived, need to be obtained accurately, conveniently and timely. In recent years, embedded Linux has been used in many fields such as industry, agriculture, education, national defense, scientific research and daily life. The demand of the embedded computer has being increased rapidly. And more requirement of the embedded computer on power consumption, production cost, research period and reliability has been raised. Now, the combination of the embedded system in Linux and the technologies of data collection and digital signal processing leads toa task to develop a small and portable device, which has functions of data collecting, processing, storing and displaying. It can also be connected easily with low cost. The research has an important earning potential and a bright prospect of being widely used.In this thesis, the performance index of data acquisition system is analyzed. Emphatically, the weak signal detection and antinoise technology are studied. The advantages of applying the embedded Linux technology to data collection and frequency spectrum analysis are also discussed. The embedded Linux operating system is used in this paper. The Atmel AT91RM9200 is selected as the CPU of the system. The elementary operating principle of the device driver in Linux is analyzed. The interrupt processing and I/O port are also discussed. At last, based on those theories, a char driver and a net driver of the system are developed. In conclusion, it is technically feasible to build embedded Linux on ARM system and apply it to the measurement and control field in industry.
