With the rapid development of computer technology and multimedia technology, the prices of multimedia teaching equipment are increasingly civilians, and multimedia classrooms based computer and projector in different schools are increasing and gradually gain popularity. The teaching environment is aslo improved. But subsequently, the lack of professional and technical personnel and the increase in equipment maintenance as well as the increasing difficulty to manage even affect the quality of teaching, which restrict the application and development of modern educational technology in schools.In order to solve these problems, under the principle of economical cost, simple operation and reliable usage, based on the needs of management and maintenance, this subject researches and designs a set of multimedia network classroom control system, which is applicable to small and medium size schools, to achieve remote control and function of monitoring its operating status for each classroom multimedia equipment in a network environment.The paper outlines the status of management in the domestic school multimedia classrooms, analyses the existing problems, illustrating the system hardware and software design principle and working principle along with the general thinking. It presents the functional requirements, design ideas and working principle of embedded multimedia central controller based on the Sunplus SPCE061A SCM. The functional modules of the central controller contain control panel module, audio/video and VGA signal switching module, RS-232serial communication and the projector control module and network access module. The paper discusses each functional module design concept, working principle and test results in detail, and it analyses design and implementation of the key technologies of the keyboard debounce, the synchronous switching of multiple signals and network access module data’s transferring processing speed and real-time issues. It proposes the method of remote maintenance and solutions. Finally, the paper describes the functional requirements of the remote monitoring software, gives details of the program’s design process, and analyses the test results.
