With the rapidly and vigorous development of network technology, theapplication of network multimedia technology has been spread all over the nationaleconomy and all aspects of the social life,and brings a great change to the humanproduction、work and the way of life. Multimedia teaching has become an importantteaching methord.Multimedia teaching overcomes the limitations of the traditionalteaching method, and greatly improves students’ interest, fully mobilizes students’learning initiative, it is important to training students’ creative thinking. It hasproduced profound effects in teaching mode、teaching means、teaching methods、education thought and the education theory. How to exert the advantage of themultimedia teaching, and how to make the multimedia technology serve for ourteaching betterly, has become an issue that our education workers need to research andsolve.In view of our campus network has already begun to take shape, the computerrooms and the local area network already has been formed, to save money,we canrealize the multimedia electronic classroom by installing electronic software,andwithout any cost in adding hardware equipment.Firstly, introduce the background, significance and the purpose of this researchedsystem, which analyzes present research on multimedia classroom home and abroad,and then provide some main core technologies and basic knowledge.Secondly, provide the functional frame on the multimedia classroom system andfollowed by the data stream diagram, which analyzes the network environment andnetwork system structure.Finally,in the exploitation of multimedia classroom system, I use MicrosoftVisual C++programming language and WinSock network programming language. Inthe system, multi-thread technology is for control instructions transmitting, IPmulticast technology is for multimedia data transmitting. In the system, screen imageis compressed and transmitted to the receiver, the receiver decompress multimedia data and restore screen image, which completely realize the functions such asbroadcast teaching、file transmitting、remote monitoring、Electronic hands and so on.In the end, draw the conclusion of the system.The multimedia classroom has build an assisted teaching environment in the localarea network, which strengthening teachers and student’s gains to obtain and controlinformation.
