This thesis chose reports of the Rich second generation (Rich2G) in Sina net forsampling. With the help of framing analysis, the thesis categorized the media image of theRich2G. Through discourse analysis, the thesis endeavored to dissect the presentationmodel of the Rich2G’s media image as well as the contributing factors behind that. Thisthesis suggested a more balanced reporting strategy and social responsibilities by themedia.The thesis selected reports concerning the Rich2G of Sina net during2009.05-2010.05. Further, this study probed into three aspects of Subject, Discourse andImage, therefore summarized three characters of the Rich2G’s media image as follows:First, Negative trend of Rich2G’s media image; Second, Socialized role of the Rich2G;Third, Stigma of the Rich2G’s media image.Based on the above, this study further explored the presentation model of the Rich2G’s media image. By applying discourse analysis, this thesis found that: First, Marco rulewas applied to title formulation; Second, the media chose diversified media source forreports concerning the Rich2G; Third, the media constructed the icon structure selectivelyand disorderly.Finally this thesis analyzed the contributing factors for the Rich2G’s media imageand suggested that social responsibilities and balanced reporting strategy should be takenby the media.
