The 2016 G20 Hangzhou summit was one of the most important multilateral economic conference hosted by China in recent years.As a permanent guest of G20 summit,Spain actively participates in the summit.And with the rising role of international status,China is attracting attention of media all over the world including Spanish media,which was lack of attention on China before.This study focuses on El País,El Mundo and El Diario ABC,the top 3 comprehensive daily newspaper in Spain.Their reports on the 2016 G20 Hangzhou summit from September 1,2016 to September 7,2016 are the study samples for content analysis and discourse analysis.Based on the framing theory,this study tries to find out the characteristics of Spanish medias' major China-related reports in several aspects like topic,length,attitude,source,etc.According to the study,the Spanish media's attention to China is increasing.Through on the economic topic it shows positive attitude,due to the deviation of the understanding of China's national conditions and affected by the western mainstream media stereotypes,the whole tone of Spanish media's major China-related reports is still negative.As such,the article suggests that China should take a proactive role both on media and government to set the topics and guide opinion,and to explain China' national conditions and Chinese characteristic.
