Research And Development Of Equipment Performance Monitoring System Of Wireless Communication Networks

With the gradually maturing of WLAN technology, domestic and international operatorsstart to use WLAN wireless communication network as a complement to3G data services. Asthe investment in the WLAN network increases, there is an upsurge of the construction ofwireless hotspots and wireless city. In order to fully exploer the role of the WLAN, so that itcan provide reliable and efficient services, the design and development of a powerful networkmanagement platform is eargly required.The thesis is based on the design and development of equipment performance monitoringsystems in the network management platform of wireless communication networks. The mainwork includes the discovery of devices in the wireless communication network, informationcollection and processing, as well as performance monitoring. After a through analysis ofcustomer demand and the investigation of current networks, an equipment performancemonitoring system is designed and developed. Compared with the previous simple NMS(network management system) that can’t satisfy customer’s need, this equipment performancemonitoring system strengthen the network management platform’s universality andexpansibility.This system is based on SNMP communication protocol. The system structure is analyzedand designed through the logical view. Besides, the function of devices discovery andinformation collection and processing has been achieved. In this system, users can not onlyfind the wireless communication devices in the network through the start and end IP address,but also get affiliation between the wireless controller and the wireless access point accordingto the information reported on the device. On this basis, we take use of SNMP communicationprotocol and MIB theory to collect the device information and monitor the performanceinformation. They will be intuitively displayed to clients in a variety of ways such as table orline chart so that the system has good visibility and can be managed more convenient anddirect.
