Pdm Product Configuration Management

PDM (Product Data Management) is a management technology generated in 60s last century. This technology and the software based on it were very mature in west developed countries. And, it is expanding very fast in civil land. AVIDM System is an advanced PDM system in the civil, which is released by Beijing Shen-Zhou Aerospace Software Company. The work of the research was based on AVIDM System standard version 3.0.The main research contents and creative ideas of the thesis as follows:1. Analyzed the foreign and civil PDM system software, the trend and the direction of the PDM, from that concluded that the CM (Configuration Management) is one hotspot that the market and the PDM software company focused on.2. Analyzing the definition attribution and function the of CM, and, build the function model of it. it is the extension of PSM (Product Structure Management).3. Making its important view on some main elements in CM. Gave the definition, Functions, measures and realization of each one. They can be classified to static elements and motioned one. The former include the PST (Product Structure Tree), Company Parts Library, Configuration Specification and the Multi-views. These static elements are used and drove by the motioned element, the Configuration Flow.4. Described the thought of arrangement is reuse of the enterprise resource in PDM and its CM.5. Used a real case to review and testify the realization of CM in PDM. The example showed the use and the facilities the CM in PDM could take to the enterprise. It also gave the key technologies in software development to build the program of CM. Gave a conclusion of the whole Article and a hope for the developing of the PDM and our enterprise information reality project.
