With the rapid development and popularization of computer and information technology, digital signal processing theory and technology emerged as the times, which has been widely used in many fields such as voice, radar, sonar, seismic detection, image processing, communications, remote sensing and telemetry, aerospace, electric power system and industrial automation and control system.Based on the project requirement of Shanghai port container height detection system, a multi-channel data acquisition and processing system based on FPGA and DSP is designed and implemented in this dissertation, which can do digital acquisition and signal processing to multi-channel microwave ranging radar IF signal and get the frequency data of each channel.The research is divided into two stages on system design in this paper.In the first phase of the work, a multi-channel data acquisition module based on FPGA and USB is designed and implemented.This module transmits the sampling raw data to PC through the USB interface for digital signal processing, and finally gets the frequency data of each channel. The data acquisition module has been successfully applied to the port container height detection system and proved to be stable and reliable.In the second phase of the work, according to the shortcomings and deficiencies of FPGA+USB+PC data acquisition and processing system, FPGA+DSP hardware architecture is designed to improve the system, which can make full use of the logic control capability of FPGA and the data processing capability of DSP,and can complete with all of the data acquisition and processing without PC. In the design process, a FPGA and DSP multiplexed with the same piece of SRAM memory chip data interface structure is proposed and implemented.DSP can get the original sampling data by directly mapping the SRAM chip to DSP data space without additional data transmission process which also improves the efficiency.The dissertation introduces the detailed hardware and software system design and implementation of the two stages work, and does a complete system testing and results analysis. The test results show that the system can accurately acquire, storage and process the six channel ranging radar signal and gets the exact frequency of each channel.What’s more, the system can not only meet the design requirements for port container pile testing system, and can also be applied to other data acquisition and processing applications by secondary development.
