Along with the rapid development and popularization of network as therepresentative of the new media and cell phone as the representative of media technology,the mode of news production and transmission are having a series of huge changes. Inrecent years, public participation in media gradually strengthens and the citizens’ newsfor ordinary citizens are becoming more and more popular. The citizens begin to activelyparticipate in the process of the news production and communication, not receiving theinformation simply and passively any more. Especially because of the emergence ofMicro-blog, the general public are easily involved in the news reports and comments ofevents depending on network and cell phone tools, furthermore, it promotes the rapiddevelopment of citizen journalism of our country and makes the arrival of “publiclyreporters” becoming possible.The Micro-blog drew a large audience with the help of small and delicate contents,fast and convenient operation mode, low barriers to entry. Anyone can releaseinformation or speech through the fragmentation language, especially at the importantmoment when social hot news have gathered. The Micro-blog has presented the originalecological view of ordinary people, and it’s also the core idea of citizen journalism andform. The Micro-blog’s appearance not only provides a platform at a new level ofsocialization for spreading news, but also lets citizens receive a new kind of expressiveway. The Micro-blog makes news’ media civilian and popular. In a blog, everyone is thepublisher of information and a news’ media. The transmission’s characteristics ofMicro-blog and the transmission’s concept of citizen journalism agree with each other.This study starts from the view of the Communication studies, combining thetheories of Journalism and Sociology and basing on Chinese local practice. This studyputs civil journalisms and Micro-blog together to do research, places the propagationcharacteristics of Micro-blog on the theoretical framework of civil journalisms, anddeeply discusses the impact of Micro-blog to the civil journalism by the analysis andsummary from a series of changes caused by Micro-blog.This paper is divided into four sections. The first chapter firstly discussed the definition of the basic concept in this paper. It defined the citizen journalism, andanalyses the main characteristics of citizen journalism. After introducing the definition ofMicro-blog and its development status, it systematically analyses the propagationcharacteristics of Micro-blog. Starting from the era background and the media feature ofMicro-blog, the second chapter analyses the production condition of citizen journalism,as well as the the characteristics of the contents of the citizen journalism in Micro-blog.Combining the related theories such as media convergence and public sphere and so on,the third chapter systematically unscrambled the communication phenomenon andpractice of the the citizen journalism in Micro-blog, and then discussed the positiveeffects made by the new communication form Micro-blog on the development of citizenjournalism. From the point of view of the three aspects which are privacy, shallowstratification and phoniness, the fourth chapter discussed the existing problems in thecourse of the development of Micro-blog.
