Radio Frequency Identification is an advanced technology of the automaticidentification and data acquisition,which is one of the ten most important technologiescurrently.It also has a widely application prospects in the fields including marketing anddistribution,manufacturing,public safety etc.Along with the availability and reliability ofthe radio frequency identification technology being improved step by step,it gradually turnsto be a indispensable tool and mean in the areas of increasing management level of supplychain and logistics,reducing production cost,increasing the informatization level of thepublic management and strengthening our country’s international competitiveness.Accompanied with the development of the radio frequency identification technology,italso have to combine it with the specific application areas,so that it can play the mostincisive role in it’s automation and high efficiency.The radio frequency identificationtechnology system includes it’s development and implementation process,involved withmany fields and disciplines,such as information technology,materials,advancedmanufacturing technology.Also the technology have crossed with many high-tech areas suchas wireless communication,computer network, control theory,information systems andmanagement sciences.Along with the deep development and wide use in application of the RFID,the RFIDmiddleware,the central and the core components of the RFID system,has become a hotpot inthis area.It is a bridge between the basic equipments and the application layer which canprovide a connection of the RFID readers and enterprise application systems.The embeddedRFID middleware structured in the embedded system weak computing environment, isdifferent with the software middleware operating on PC.It realizes the functions on aembedded system,then it can be used in various of the system integrations.Firstly,thisarticle introduces the development of radio frequency identification and RFIDmiddleware,and then puts forward the method of embedded middleware design.Through theconstruction of embedded hardware and software environment,and the development of serialdriver,also the design of read and write device management program,this article finallyrealize the embedded RFID middleware.
