RFID is radio frequency identification. RF signal is a non-contact transmission of information through the alternating magnetic field and electromagnetic fields. RFID is a technology used to achieve the wireless identification purposes by RF signal. The characteristics of the RFID technology are that the identifying information is transmitted using radio waves without restriction by space. This technology is a significant breakthrough in the field of electronics, and it is simple to use with the characteristics of high degree of confidentiality and security. So it developed rapidly in all applications.In the radio frequency identification technology applications, the read and write terminal is an important part of the system. Reader terminal can read and write tag information to achieve information transmission and processing. Read and write terminal can achieve a more complex management with the host computer's system management software. The read and write terminal design and the intelligent library management system solve the library Management issues.According to the design needs, we chose the chip of MSP430 as the main controller in the design the reader. We select the RI-R6C-001A chip and the corresponding circuit as the part of RF, which is design by TI Company and Philips Company. We select modular approach to finish the program in the Software components. It is divided into several modules, including the main program, the initialization module, the function setting, the function realization module, the key control module, the screen display module, the tag scanning module, the wireless communication module, the power control module. The main research and work include:(1) Design the control circuit to control the working state of the RF transceiver, LCD display and working patterns. It is the design center.(2) Complete the low-power design. Try our best to minimize the power of ordinary work in the hardware design. (3) complete the design of the overall structure of software part and the design of efficacy data.(4) Since the system allows several tags to be recognized, it is need to take measures to avoid the conflict of identification.we realize the Multi card reader mode in the design by using the software design of the anti-collision algorithm(5) By using the design of the fast and efficient wireless network module, the product has good anti-jamming wireless communication function, several reader devices can work together in one system simultaneously.The design of the reader terminal can read in 12cm. it can move in the range of 100 meters and is able to work for 8 hours continuously.
