The technology of Radio Frequency Identification is an automatic identification technology; it has gradually risen to mature in the recent years. It can achieve the purpose of target identification and data exchange by using Non-contact radio frequency signals, two-way communication. It has the advantage of efficient, fast, reliable, Non-contact and can work in harsh environments. It can be combined with computer, network, and communication technologies, and is considered to be one of the most development potential of the technology in the 21st century. The contact-less RFID cards are widely used especially the second-generation ID card, transportation system, safe-guard field and so on. The RFID Read-write Device is a key component of the system; the design's success is directly related to the final performance of the entire RFID system.With the background of practical application of RFID technology, Derived using electromagnetic theory under the conditions of tags in the resonant load inductor current with the reader, the transponder inductors and the relationship between the coupling coefficients. A 13.56MHz-based RFID Read-write Device is designed in this paper based on in-depth understanding of the basic principles of RFID technology, structure, characteristics, and related theories. Some of the key Technology of RFID can be known deeply through designing this system.Basic concepts of RFID, Prospects, Works, Related theories, Key Technologies are briefly introduced firstly in this paper. Basic composition and working principle of RFID are decrypted. This paper clarifies the working frequency of 13.56MHz, RFID system, the physical mechanism and Communication Theory, and the ISO/IEC14443A agreement is briefly analyzed. Hardware and software of the system is designed on the basis of the theoretical analysis. This paper deeply introduce LPC2364,MFRC500,DM9161A chip and Mifare1 S50 IC tag using in this hardware system. In this system Hardware designing mainly includes radio frequency identification module circuit, micro-controller unit circuit and antenna modules circuit and so on. Software design is mainly the designing of reader software, including system initial program, watch dog program, radio frequency identification module configuration program, serial communication program, Ethernet Network communication program and so on. Finally, the performance of Read-write Device's performance is tested and the results show that the system can work well.For proving the commonality of the system platform. No need to modify the firmware and hardware and just change the PC software development, we can realize other applications relating to the RFID field. Shorten the application development cycle and reduce development costs. The pioneering project to RFID technology and IP network communications technology together.Finally, doing a summary and future prospect of the technology also raises the deficiencies of the system's hardware and software and the situation need to be further perfected to develop the PC software.
