Competition in the communication repeater industry is becoming increasinglyfierce, and challenge of the replacement is becoming increasingly severe, so that theprofit rate of the repeater industry is greatly reduced. The ultimate purpose of thebusiness is to make profits, so how to efficiently develop low-cost new products withhigh-quality is desired for each repeater manufacturers.Based on the analysis of the situation of the communication repeater industry andthe status of the repeater development in Company M, the organizational structure ofthe repeater development is reconstructed firstly in Company M with the applicationof the concept of concurrent engineering. And then the function modeling andoptimization based on IDEF0, the process modeling and optimization based on IDEF3,makes the product quality a certain increase. The effectiveness analysis of the parallelmodel with the network planning technique makes the duration is reduced by40%.Finally, through the further time-cost optimization, the best duration of92days isobtained in G91-0optical repeater project.The concept of concurrent engineering is applied, concurrent engineering theoryand IDEF modeling technology is combined in communication enterprise. Networkplanning technique is used to optimize and evaluate the model. Through the study ofconcurrent engineering in Company M, the duration is shortened, the cost is reducedand the quality is improved. This has positive effect on profitability andcompetitiveness of Company M.
