Research And Implementation Of Network Management Platform Based On SNMP

With the computer network scale unceasing expansion, the structure increasinglycomplicated, and the function more and more powerful, the computer network management isbecoming more and more important. A well-designed network management system ensuresthe stability run of the computer network.This is a project developing fundamental network management platform to managenetwork elements. Nowadays, new products and new technologies are emerging constantly.Each new one needs the corresponding network management system. Thus, more and moreenterprises values network management platform. This thesis contains several aspects below.First, this thesis reviews the development of network management and analyses thetechnical feature of SNMP protocol to conclude the great advantages of the networkmanagement system based on it by combining with the project. And on that basis, this thesisproposes the necessity and feasibility.Second, this thesis analyses the key technology of network management platform,including RMI using for communication modules, JMS using for message modules, XMLusing for customization solutions, Hibernate using for database connection.Third, on the basis above, this thesis analysis the requirements of network managementplatforms and introduces the preliminary design of the system, which is divided into threemodules: background service, foreground service, and user control. Also, this thesisintroduces the overall system structure.Fourth, this thesis introduces the detailed analysis and discussion about the overallstructure and implementation of the background service, foreground service, and user control.And on that basis, this thesis introduces the detail design and implementation of the specificmodules, such as topology discovery, alarm, customization system, local caching mechanism,etc. At last, this thesis describes the necessary tests to verify the system feasibility.This thesis focus on the detailed analysis and discussion of the overall design and each ofthe sub modules, and the design architectures are introduced for each of the importantmodules. Although there are some universal and powerful network management platforms aboard,they’re difficult to learn, to develop, and to maintain. Moreover, they cost much. The purposeof this project is to develop a universal network management platform with targeted products.
