Design And Implementation Of Network Management System For OTA Platform Based On SNMP

With the rapid development of computer and data network technology, network service system structure becomes more and more complex. Systems in network are interdependent. A system failure will lead to other procedure fault. The program real-time performance parameters are also urgent for administrator to grasp the operation situation. An automated network management tool is needed for the management of these large-scale systems. SNMP is a collection of a series of standard. It has been widely accepted by the supplier. It is already recognized as the industry standard in network management.OTA system based on short message mechanism is a value-added platform which can download, delete and update the SIM card menu via cell phone terminal or server. The platform can supply an Individuation service. Cooperation with other resources is necessary for the operation of each program in OTA system. The entire system can work normally only when each program works normally. In order to discover the fault of procedure and monitor the key operation parameters, a network management system should be added to the OTA system.In this paper, network management system is designed and realized for OTA system. First, the demand for the project is described in detail. After analysis the structure of OTA system, the conclusion is drew that OTA platform needs network management to ensure the normal operation of the system. Then, functions of network management and SNMP protocol are studied. In the following, two models of network management system analyzed and designed in detail are brought up for the OTA system. Compared in the experiment, a suitable model is chosen to apply to OTA system. Last, summary and prospect are presented.The network management system of independent mode has been designed and applied to OTA platform successfully. It runs well on line now. It guarantees the stable operation of the OTA platform.
