Immersive virtual environment with multi-channel stereoscopic projection hasbecome one of the focus of virtual reality system. However, there are still many problems.Based on the characteristics and need of multi-channel projection of virtual simulationsystem, we developed our real-time roaming system. This system not only has goodversatility, nice sense of immersion and scalability. Combined the theory and methods ofdecision-making with the virtual immersive environment, and establish a platform andsystem for information management is a new and useful try and application. This paperdescribed below contents:First, study the hardware and architecture of the multi-channel projection system.Still study and select master/slave mode for software architecture, according to therequirement of application and feasibility;Study terrain modeling base on the real environment and the future construct vision,thus the modeling method used DEM data and cultural feature information. Besides, wediscuss the design and implementation of roaming and interaction system based ongeometric modeling.Study the principle and implementation of stereoscopic projection, and the impact ofa variety of factors to the visual feeling when the human observer watching themulti-channel projected image through the polarized glasses. Study several commontechnical problems when roaming system established base on the multi-channel hardware,mainly the problem of geometric correction for image still with the synchronization offrame and data. Against these issues, we get the realization by software methods.Finally, summarize the work of the full text, as well as a series of outlook for thefuture work. |
